War of Racism..
The Sri Lankan civil war lasted more than 30 years, from 1983 to 2009.It was a conflict between the Sri Lankan government and a group called the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).The LTTE wanted independence and aimed to create a separate country for the Tamil people in the north and east of the island, which they called Tamil Eelam.
The war caused a lot of pain and damage in Sri Lanka. Many lives were lost, with over one hundred thousand people, including civilians, soldiers, and members of the LTTE. Many families had to leave their homes, and a lot of people moved to other countries. The civil war also harmed the economy because money was spent on the war instead of on improving the country.
The conflict ended in May 2009 when the Sri Lankan military defeated the LTTE and killed their leader, Velupille Prabhakaran. The war was over, but its effects are still felt today. People are working to rebuild the country and heal the divisions between different groups.
The Sri Lankan Civil War carries a message of hope and highlights the importance of understanding and accepting different cultures. It shows the need for forgiveness and unity to create a better future.
